SocGen exposed to full frontal blog transparency

It seems these days corporate crises are played out in full view of the public.

The FT Alphaville team live blogged SocGen's conf call this morning - the one in which the management 'explain' where the euro 5bn went.

I've never really got much value from tracking the live blogging of Davos, MacWorld, or wherever. But the Alphaville post really catches the behind the scenes atmosphere and gives a lot of insight into the scrambling that goes on in these situations. It also highlights yet another new media inspired challenge for communications managers to understand how best to manage, most especially when in crisis management mode.

And just to reinforce the degree of public exposure that is the norm now, all the internal and customer comms are immediately spilling outside of the company too.

And they read very well too, Derrick ;-)
