Blogsmart news e-mail from blogging guru Dave Taylor gives subscribers a look behind the curtain, at how he crafts his writing for good search engine results.

his latest post on Ask Dave Taylor - about
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Dave writes:
The first clue is right there in the URL: I am using the book title as the name of the blog entry, which will work better than having, say, a URL like "harry_po43243.html" or similar. The title's long, but this is just a basic search engine technique.
When you read the article, you'll also see that I have the book title once in italics and once in bold, and even have a graphic related to the book, a puzzle off author J. K. Rowling's Web site where she first revealed the official title of this last volume.
Dave goes on to discuss how he will capitalize on this groundwork in the future, when the book is available for pre-order.
That title again is
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. And once more for the nearsighted:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
