I'm a novice golfer and have been playing for almost 2 years having been given some lessons for a birthday a couple of years ago.
Each year I set my self some targets both of which I have done so far, I haven't worked out next year's suggestions welcome.
year 1 - be able to play a round with friends and not be embarrassed, if you ask them they may say something else.
year 2 - play a sub 100 round (just)
In my quest for improvement I sign up to a number of golf emails one of which caught my attention today.
Nick Harrington has set up a
forum on
Golf Magic where he outlines that he is going to donate £5 for a gross birdie, £10 for a gross eagle, £100 for a hole in one over the whole year which he will update after every round. A number of people have posted comments that they will do similar.
I think that this would be a great idea for a blog to track his progress.
Good luck Nick, I will do the same but since I've only ever had a couple of birdies I don't expect it to be that much. Steve (my boss) I need more time to play golf ;-).
