For the last couple of weeks I've been on holiday and made a concerted effort not to turn on my laptop and watched very little TV. I've come back and YouTube seems to have made the jump from online to offline phenomenon.
On the way into work I read the free paper Metro on the tube and on the way back I read the Evening Standard. I think every day between the two there has been a story about some video which has been posted on YouTube.
Tonight while sitting here at my PC trying to catch up on some reading I have the TV on next to me. On the main BBC nightly news they have a 3 minute piece on YouTube and how they're going to publish every music video on there.
Are journalists just quiet over the summer period or are they getting lazy and know that they can find something to write their 1000 words about easily on one of a few websites with very little thinking required?
